Sun Strides Foundation – Temecula Turkey Trot 2011 5K/10K

Back in 2011, in my early 20s, I was invited to volunteer on a pioneering project that brought clean energy to schools in Africa. I’ve always had a soft spot for side projects especially ones that involve helping kids, so I jumped in without hesitation.

I teamed up with another designer and an art director. We worked fully remote, meeting at local coffee shops around San Diego to brainstorm, sketch layouts, and lock in color palettes. It was scrappy, creative, and full of heart.

Together, we designed a website, a mobile app, brochures, and t-shirts to support the initiative. Our collective efforts helped raise $30,000 funds that went directly toward materials and labor to power classrooms in underserved communities.
